Lori & Marty -
I began working for Marty the summer of 2003. I had been working as a work study student for her ex husband Andy at the library, when I was told they were unable to pay me for the summer. I was in art school and Marty was in need of some help (so I was told). I spent the summer dusting frame corners, cleaning glass, assembling frames, and watching Marty’s every interaction with her customers. What started as a summer job - turned into 22 years of framing, friendship, family, laughter, and love. Marty would never fire me and I refused to leave.
Marty’s passing left a giant size hole in my heart. She was more than a boss, she was my mentor and my dearest friend. In 2025, six months after her passing, I decided to carry on her picture framing legacy as Pixel & Frame. Almost a year after her passing, I am fortunate to have a spot in Pullman Square with my colleague Jon and The Blue Ewe.
